Slim Salsa includes lots of heart healthy benefits.  When you’re looking to pack in the protein, don’t always assume you have to get the protein from meat. Black beans like the ones used in this recipe are the next-highest source of protein after animal-based foods. They’re low in fat, high in fiber, and can have nearly 40 grams of protein in one can.

Avocado, often called “alligator pear,” because it tends to be shaped like a pear and have green, bumpy skin (like an alligator), is also included in this recipe. Research has shown avocados are one of the best healthy fats to eat. They contain more potassium than bananas, and loaded with fiber. So dig in, Slim Salsa is fresh, flavorful, and great for your heart.
