Ghost, goblins, and ghouls, oh my! Halloween has finally creeped around we’re in the spooky spirit! Dressed as a tiger, Sutton is on the prowl for sweet treats. Although still too young to be knocking on doors and clawing through candy it’s still a good excuse to get into the spooky spirit with a spook-tacular photo shoot! This kitty needs a den so we went all out with Sutton’s Spook House” and it couldn’t be more puuuurfect! Enter if you dare.
A big idea of course this had to be life size to fit Sutton so we started with an in tact wash/dryer box and picked up a refrigerator box just in case we wanted to go BIGGER! A great tip when you’re looking for scraps and boxes is to call your local Home Depot delivery company and ask them to save you a box! We toured the local lumber yard while we were at it for some unique scrap pieces too.
Don’t be “scared” this is much easier than you think! With a few measurements to the top flap we were able to fold and cut and create a roof top to make the house complete! It’s all in the details.
The possibilities are endless with a glue gun and a can of paint! We wanted to house to look as realistic as possible. we used scrap wood to mimic siding, cut styrofoam to look like stone, and even added a chimney. The shingles on the roof top are just extra pieces of cardboard spray painted black. Side note- once you have the box assembled be sure to cut any windows and doors before doing anything else.
Stay tuned for the final piece!
